Il gruppo di chimica teorica e il gruppo di teoria della soft matter del Dipartimento di Scienze Chimiche dell'Università di Padova, in collaborazione con la Divisione di Chimica Teorica e Computazionale della SCI, stanno organizzando la scuola su metodi stocastici dal titolo: "Classical and Quantum Stochastic Approaches for the Interpretation of Dynamic Processes in Condensed Phases".
La scuola si terrà a Padova, dal 6 al 9 febbraio 2024. Consisterà in 17 ore di lezioni, 8 ore di esercitazioni guidate e 6 ore di esercitazioni libere. Le lezioni saranno in lingua inglese.
Rivolta soprattutto a dottorande/dottorandi e postdoc, la scuola ha lo scopo di fornire gli strumenti formali e computazionali per poter descrivere i processi dinamici in sistemi complessi sfruttando un approccio statistico per il trattamento gerarchico dei gradi di libertà di un sistema, suddivisi in rilevanti e non rilevanti.
Al fine di seguire al meglio le lezioni e, soprattutto, le esercitazioni, si consiglia una preparazione almeno basilare su un linguaggio di programmazione e sui metodi della chimica computazionale (classici e/o quantistici).

The Theoretical Chemistry Group and the Soft Matter Theory Group of the Department of Chemical Sciences of the University of Padua, in collaboration with the “Divisione di Chimica Teorica e Computazionale della SCI”, are organizing the school on stochastic methods entitled: "
Classical and Quantum Stochastic Approaches for the Interpretation of Dynamic Processes in Condensed Phases".
The school will be held in Padua, from 6 to 9 February 2024. It will consist of 17 hours of lectures, 8 hours of guided tutorials, and 6 hours of free exercises. Lectures will be in English.
Aimed at PhD students and postdocs, the school aims to provide the formal and computational tools to describe dynamic processes in complex systems by exploiting a statistical approach for the hierarchical treatment of the degrees of freedom of a system, divided into relevant and non-relevant.
To better follow the lectures and exercises, we recommend a basic knowledge of a programming language and of methods of computational chemistry (classical and/or quantum).
